Obituary for Shelly R. Mason Jr. Shelly Raymond Mason, Jr., 87, of Cross City, Florida passed away Thursday, October 4, 2018. Mr. Mason was born December 15, 1930 in Tallahassee, Florida. He proudly served in the U.S. Navy.

He was an electrician with Continental Turpentine, after leaving there, his work moved to the Department of Corrections, where he became an instructor for electrical classes. Mr. Mason loved taking care of his family, gardening and riding his bike. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Cross City.

Mr. Mason is survived by his stepson, Kent (Jan) Driggers of Cross City, FL; daughters, Linda (Byrl) Philmon of Old Town, FL and Myrtle (Frank) Austin of Fanning Springs, FL; 18 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren and 15 great-great grandchildren; nephews, Tom Brown and Randy Brown; niece, Leah Porter. He is preceded in death by his wife, Louise Mason and grandson, Kenneth Raymond Driggers. Graveside funeral services for Mr. Mason will be held 3:30 pm Sunday, October 7, 2018 at the Cross City Cemetery in Cross City, FL.
