Obituary for Sherry L. (Chapman) LaFave GREENFIELD – Sherry L. (Chapman) LaFave, age 62, of Greenfield, passed away on Thursday, July 26, 2018 at Hancock Regional Hospital. She was born on May 11, 1956 in Indianapolis as the daughter of Ernest G. and Annie L. (Cardwell) Chapman. She graduated from Arsenal Tech High School in 1974.

Sherry married Michael James LaFave on October 8, 1989 in Greenwood. She was the owner and operator of Grime Away Cleaning in Indianapolis for 30 years. She also was a Premier Jewelry consultant for five years in Hancock County.

Sherry adored her family and they meant everything to her. She cherished all her friendships and would help anybody in need. She was known as fierce, hardworking, and a most generous woman who fought for what was right.

Sherry is survived by her children, Tara E.A. LaFave, Jeffrey LaFave, and Joseph LaFave with his wife, Brianna, and their daughter, Sarah Jo. She is also survived by her brother, Jim Chapman and his wife Nancy; niece, Lori Brawner and her husband, Dewane; nephew, Scott Chapman; and cousins, Charlie and Mary Lou Davis, Brandy Hess, Brooke Davis, and Charlie Davis. She was preceded in death by her parents, Annie & Ernie Chapman; husband, Michael LaFave; and cousin, Sarah Jo Cardwell.

Visitation will be held on Friday, August 3, 2018, from 10:30 a.m. until 2:30 p.m. at Erlewein Mortuary & Crematory, 1484 W. US Hwy. 40, Greenfield, IN 46140. A funeral service will take place immediately following the visitation at 2:30 p.m. Burial will follow at New Palestine Cemetery in New Palestine.

There will be a celebration of life for Sherry LaFave at the Canada residence, 5051 S. 500 W., New Palestine on Saturday, August 4th at 1:00 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made by mail to Lupus Foundation of America, 2121 K Street, NW, Suite 200, Washington, DC 20037-1830, or envelopes will be available at the mortuary.
