Shirley Fern Fuchs (Peterson), age 70, of Janesville, died on Thursday, June 14, 2018 at LeConte Medical Center in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee surrounded by family. She was born on September 4, 1947 in Edgerton, the daughter of Sam and Fern (Swartout) Peterson. She married Robert T. Fuchs in Janesville in 1966, and they divorced in 2001.

Shirley (with Robert) owned Foxy’s in Janesville and later Pete’s Ghost Antiques in Edgerton. She worked at the Home Depot for 18 years. She had just begun work… Read More » as a youth financial counselor at the YWCA.

Shirley lived a full life and had many interests. Her greatest joy was in traveling, particularly to national parks and Lake Superior. She was passionate about flowers and gardening, and she was a gifted decorator.

She loved antiquing and going to flea markets and enjoyed walking, biking, and birding. She was a master at appreciating the beauty in things that few would notice. Shirley is survived by her 3 children: Heidi Fuchs of New Jersey, Alex (Tanya) Fuchs of Edgerton, and Samuel (Julie) Fuchs of East Troy; brother, John (Teresa) Peterson of Lake Geneva; 2 sisters: Sue (Dave) Tanda both of Janesville and Nancy Peterson of Milton; 2 stepchildren: Barry Fox and Richard Fox; and grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and many friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her sister Judy Lauer of Janesville, and her ex-husband. A Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, June 19, 2018, at Central Lutheran Church in Edgerton, WI. Visitation will be held immediately before the service from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. at the Church.

Interment will be in Jensen Cemetery in Edgerton. Albrecht Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Edgerton is assisting the family.
