Shirley L. Hamilton, 74 of Sciotoville, passed away Wednesday June 20, 2018 at SOMC Hospice Center surrounded by her loving family. She was born February 10, 1944 in Adams County, OH, a daughter of the late Lige and Anna (Poole) Hayslip. Shirley worked as a waitress for Frische’s and as a nursing assistant at Best Care in Wheelersburg.

She was of the Apostolic Faith and was a member of the James Dickey Post 23, American Legion Ladies Auxillary. Shirley loved to go fishing and bowled on many leagues over the years. She also loved to go dancing anytime she could.

Shirley is survived by a son, Jeffrey Hamilton and wife Debra of Wheelersburg; a daughter, Angela Cutlip and husband Paul of Portsmouth; a brother, Glen Hayslip and wife Linda of Portsmouth; three sisters, Mary Arnett of Dayton, Elizabeth Osborne of Freemont, Treva James and husband Elmer of Portsmouth; four grandchildren, Robert Horton, Makenzie Horton, Nikki Runyon, and Sarah Hamilton; two great-grandchildren, Jake Runyon and Sophia Hicks; and her special friend, Morris Maple. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Robert Hamilton; two sisters, Betty Lane, Phyllis Taylor; and four infant siblings. Services will be 10:00 a.m. Saturday June 23, 2018 at D.W. SWICK-NELSON FUNERAL HOME in New Boston with Reverend Don Hammond officiating.

Interment will follow at Memorial Burial Park. Visitation will be Friday from 5 to 8 p.m. and Saturday from 9 to 10 a.m. at the funeral Home. Online condolences may be shared at www.
