Mrs. Shirley Smith Snoddy, age 74 of Franklin, KY, passed away Wednesday, November 21,2018 at 3:15 AM at the Medical Center in Franklin, KY. Arrangements are under the direction of Gilbert Funeral Home where services will be held at 1:30 pm Saturday, November 24, 2018 with burial to follow in the Crestview Memorial Gardens in Gallatin, TN. Shirley was born December 10, 1943 in Davidson Co., TN, to the late William Virgil Smith and the late Gracie Mai Nichols Smith.

She was preceded in death by 2 brothers Elzie Smith and Kei Smith, Sr., 3 sisters Ruby Smith Gammon and Maic Smith Shrum and Emogene Smith Ross. She married Larry Snoddy on April 6, 1963 who survives of Franklin, KY, other survivors include 3 children Ret. US Navy Master at Arms Phillip Larry Snoddy, Jr. (Rhonda) of Bremerton, WA, Ronnie Jay Snoddy (Angela) of franklin, KY and Sara Lynn Frye (Todd) of Antioch, TN.

, 8 grandchildren 2nd Class Petty Officer Phillip Larry Snoddy, III, Brandon Lee Snoddy, Samantha Kathleen George, Lance Corporal Bobby Snoddy, Colby Snoddy, Gracie Snoddy, Gabriele Snoddy and Jordon Almodovar and great grandchildren Olivia Leigh Snoddy, Carter Reece Walraven, Trevor Scott Snoddy, Eli Lane Hallman. Shirley was a member of the New Bethel Missionary Baptist Church in Goodlettsville, TN, she was a pianist for several churches for over 63 years. She was a196l graduate of DuPont High School in Old Hickory, TN.

She served with the Red Cross for 2years, F-S PTA President for 2 years, KY PTA District President for 2 years, KY PTA State Chairwoman for 2 Years, KY Garden Club Member, Franklin Garden Club President for 6 years, KY Garden Club Dogwood District Director for 2 years, KY Garden Club State Chaplain for 2 years, KY Garden Club State Chairman for 4years, Simpson County Extension Council where she was secretary for 2 years,Master Gardener, Franklin-Simpson Fair Board, Simpson County Homemaker and Simpson County Homemakers Council. Visitation will be from 1:00 PM tilt 9:00 PM Friday, November 23,2018 and from 6:00 AM until service time on Saturday at Gilbert Funeral Home. Online condolences may be made www.
