Erland, age 82, a resident of Clinton Township, Michigan passed Friday, May 24, 2019 at McLaren Macomb Hospital in Mount Clemens, MI. She was born on May 15, 1937 in Beckley, West Virginia to the late Glen and Pearl (Meadows) Phipps. On May 14, 1983 in Warren, MI she was united in marriage to Edwin H. Erland.

They recently celebrated their 36 wedding anniversary. Shirley worked as a waitress for many years. She was also a member of the American Legion Auxiliary.

Her homemade strawberry jam and peach preserves will be missed by those lucky ones she shared with. Shirley enjoyed canning, flower gardening, camping, and traveling. She is survived by her husband Edwin, son Pete Sullins, daughters Cindy (Richard) Pool and Jodi (Greg) Campbell, six grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren.

She is also survived by her siblings Donald (Kay), Carol (Roger), June (Mark), and Glenna (Angelo). She was preceded in death by her son Donald Sullins, Jr. and sister Drema. Visitation will be held in the Harold W. Vick Funeral Home, 140 South Main Street, Mt.

Clemens on Tuesday, May 28, 2019 from 2:00p.m. until 8:00p.m. Funeral services will be held at 11:00a.m. on Wednesday, May 29, 2019 in the funeral home with Rev. William Lawrence officiating. Burial will follow in Clinton Grove Cemetery, Clinton Twp.
