Stanton Anders, age 77, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Monday, January 21, 2019, in De Leon, Texas He was born on August 25, 1941, in Comanche, Texas, to Jess Ira and Kathleen (Hughes) Anders. Stanton was a good, upstanding man who put his beloved wife, Ann, whom he married on April 10, 1959, his daughter, Paula Singleton and her husband Tommy, grandson Charlie Singleton and sister Paulette Nabors, whom he called Zuts, above all else.

He worked hard and wore many caps to make sure his family was well provided for and had everything they needed. He worked the Fire Stand in Comanche and ran peanut routes for Paula’s Peanuts, a business his daughter started. For thirty years he worked for Golden Peanuts, as a manager and supervisor and he considered his employees part of his family.

Stanton loved people and was a ‘dad’ and ‘grandpa’ to many in the community. He was always smiling never complained, and would do anything for anyone in need. He had a keen sense of humor and loved to pick on people and especially loved making his wife, Ann, mad.

He had a passion for fishing and any time of the year when he had a little “free” time Stanton could be found fishing on Lake Proctor. He would go the lake with anyone he could find to go with him. His friends and family have many great memories of the catfish and yellow cats that he loved to catch.

He is survived by his wife, Ann Anders of De Leon; daughter, Paula Singleton and husband Tommy, of San Saba; grandson, Charlie Singleton of San Saba; and sister, Paulette Nabors of De Leon. She was preceded in death by his parents Jess and Kathleen Anders; parents-in-law, Burt and Dellar Frazier; brothers-in-law, Larry Nabors, Earl Frazier, J. B. Frazier and Buddy Frazier; and nephews, Clint and Chad Nabors.
