Thursday, January 10, 2019, at Comanche Funeral Home Chapel. BURIAL: Saint John’s Lutheran Cemetery in Priddy, Texas. Nadine Koenig, age 80, passed away on Thursday, January 3, 2019, in Dublin, Texas.

Nadine was born in 1938 in a little town called Priddy, Texas. She was raised on a farm in a house without electricity. She had very little growing up.

Her uncle would bring them a box of presents at Christmas and she always remembered how special that was. At the age of twelve or thirteen her family moved to Houston. A home with electricity and in home water.

She met Louis Koenig, her neighbor, and it was love. They married on August 9, 1958. In 1959 I was born.

We lived there until 1982. They bought a home in Dublin, Texas, and have resided there for over thirty years. Nadine was a kind, caring woman.

She put her family first and gave everything she could above and beyond. She was a homemaker, a skilled cook and devoted mother and wife. She loved Hope Lutheran Church.

Her favorite flower was the 4 o’clocks that grow wild in the front yard. She loved Mexican food and fried chicken. She was a remarkable woman from whom I get my strength, and our lives are better for knowing her.

There is an empty space no-one can fill. I read once the definition of a lady was a woman who tried to make everyone else comfortable. My mother was a true lady.

She was kind to everyone. Rest in peace my beloved mother. She is survived by her husband, William Koenig of Dublin, Texas; daughter and son-in-law, Sandra Marie Koenig and Chuck Olney of Dublin, Texas; adopted sons, Trey Stelma of Vicksburg, Mississippi and Frank Don Watson of Alvin, Texas; brother, Walter Johnson of Houston, Texas; sister, Lois Teresa Zille of Weismar, Germany; and numerous nieces and nephews.
