Obituary of Stephen Esposito Stephen R. Esposito, 38, of Red Hook, NY, passed away following a brain aneurysm on Wednesday, January 2, 2019. He is survived by his wife, Sarah Krokey Esposito, and his beloved daughter, Isabel. Sarah and Steve were joyfully married at St. Christopher’s Church July 8, 2016, and reside in Red Hook, NY.
Steve is from the Bronx and is survived by his parents, Richard S. Esposito and Lida Syrko-Esposito. He is also survived by his four younger brothers, John (Sarah), Michael (Marianne and son David), Ricky, and Peter. Steve graduated from Regis High School and earned his degree at Georgetown University.
The last eight years he worked as a marketing manager for The Clorox Company. He was an active member of Mask and Bauble in college, as well as the Blue Hill Troupe and the Village Light Opera Group in New York City. Steve lived his life bursting with energy and enthusiasm for what he loved.
Steve had an uncanny ability to remember information, from the architectural history of New York City to the words of every Gilbert and Sullivan production. His keen wit and intellect delighted in the world around him, while his gift at extemporaneous speaking left many speechless. With a knack for building, Steve could make theatrical worlds out of wood and a nail gun.
He fixed everything, from the air conditioning units to Isabel’s toy trains. Steve took pride in a job well done, whether it be his career, in the kitchen, in the nursery, on a set, in a workshop, or at church. He loved working outside and with his hands; he dreamed of one day owning his own farm or carpentry workshop.
Steve felt proud and grateful for his parents and his brothers, sharing meals and news on a frequent basis. The love fostered within him only increased with his marriage and the birth of his daughter. To them, he was their home.
Through his love, hard work, care, and devotion, Steve nurtured a strong and stable network of extended family and friends – relationships he valued throughout his life. His friends are down to earth, generous to a fault, funny till it hurts, and loyal beyond measure; traits he himself possessed. Friends may call at the Burnett & White Funeral Home on Monday, January 7th, 2019, from 4 to 7 pm.
Prayers will be offered during calling hours. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 AM on Tuesday, January 8th, 2019, at St. Christopher’s Church, Red Hook, NY. Father Patrick Buckley will officiate.
