Steven G. Smith, age 65, of Galesburg, passed away on July 7, 2018. He was born on January 6, 1953 in Battle Creek, the son of Frank and Betty (Worthington) Smith. Steven graduated from Battle Creek Central High School in 1970.

He was previously employed by American Fire Apparatus then as a painter for Sweitzer Construction Company. Stevens hobbies included flying ultralight airplanes and drones and working on his Dodge Challenger. He devoted his time to making memories with his grandchildren as well as spending time with his faithful companion boxer, “Cookie”.

Steve was preceded in death by his parents. Surviving are his daughters; Stacey (Leah) Apsey-Dunn of Galesburg, Laura (Rory) LaMore-Button of East Leroy, sister; Sheila (Robert) Wolford of Battle Creek, brother; Gary (Dawna) Smith of Bellevue, grandchildren; Phillip, Abby, Brady, Katie, Lynne, Tori, Brittany and his nieces and nephews. In accordance to his wishes, cremation has taken place.

A private family service will be held later. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society. Arrangements by the Richard A. Henry Funeral Home & Cremation Services.
