Steven’s Obituary Steven Michael Anderton, 68, of Granite City, IL, passed away at 3:06 p.m. Sun. Mar. 24, 2019 in Lake St. Louis, MO while under hospice care with his family at his side.

He was born June 22, 1950 in Odgen, UT to the late Edward & Colleen (Heaps) Anderton. On Oct. 24, 1968, he and Elizabeth Eleanor Benefield were married in Long Beach, CA.

She preceded him in death May 10, 2018. Steve was a U.S. Navy veteran, serving from 1968 to 1970. He then worked for Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery for more than 20 years.

He loved to fish. He is survived by a daughter: Janet (David) Cary of Bonduel, WI; 5 sons: Gene (Majken) Anderton of Lake St. Louis, MO, Michael Anderton of Mitchell, IL, Robert (Megan) Anderton of Alton, Frank (Agnieszka) Anderton of St. Louis, MO and Brian (Samantha) Anderton of Desloge, MO; 19 grandchildren; and 2 great-grandchildren.
