Obituary for Sue A. Congdon Sue A. Congdon, 55, of North Fort Myers, FL, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Wednesday, July 4, 2018. Formerly of East Hartford, CT, she had been a Florida resident since 2017. She was born January 10, 1963 in Hartford, CT.

She was a 1981 graduate from Penney High School, of East Hartford, CT. She received her Associates Degree from Manchester Community College and a Cosmetology degree. She was owner/operator at many different salons over the past thirty years.

She loved her clients and they became like family. She loved to travel with her husband Garth. She was an avid pet collector.

She loved her horses, cats and dogs. They brought her much joy. Sue is survived by her loving husband of 30 years, Garth J. Congdon; her father, Clifford Schaefer; her father and mother-in-law, Victor and Beryl Congdon of Portland, CT; her brother and sister-in-law, Keith (Debbie) Congdon of Kensington, NH and Susan (Douglas) Mitchell of South Glastonbury, CT; her aunts, Anne and Helen; as well as many cousins and six nieces, Kelsey.

Lindsey, Erin, Kaitlyn, Kara and Colleen. A special thank you to her Uncle Ollie who helped care for her in her last days. She loved him dearly She was preceded in death by her mother, Pauline Jeanette (Brielo) Schaefer.

A memorial service will be held in Connecticut at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorial contributions be made to your local animal shelter, the National Diabetes Association (diabetes.org) and the National Kidney Foundation (kidney.org) Arrangements are being handled by Shikany’s Bonita Funeral Home.
