Sue Ann Hostetler, 66, of Kewanee, died Saturday, September 1, 2018 at her home surrounded by her family. She was born December 10, 1951 in Kewanee, the daughter of Roy and Pearl Mae (Bunker) Mahnesmith. Sue graduated from Kewanee High School Class of 1970.

Sue is survived by her mother, Mae Mahnesmith, Kewanee; brother, Roy L. (Linda) Mahnesmith, Princeton; daughters, Sabrina (Adam) Haptonstall, and Shannon (Jason) Schwarz, both of Kewanee. She is also survived by eight grandchildren,… Read More » Nikki Golden, Brandon Golden, Morgan Golden, Alex Forbes, Dallas Schwarz, Brianna Schwarz, all of Kewanee, Alexia Schwarz and Tristan Schwarz, both of Godfrey, IL. She was preceded in death by her father, Roy Potter Mahnesmith.

Sue worked for the Kewanee Police Department and the City of Kewanee as a Telecommunicator. She retired in December of 2017. Sue was a lifelong member of the First Presbyterian Church, Kewanee.

She was a talented seamstress and she enjoyed quilting. She was an excellent cook and baker. Sue loved spending time with friends and family especially her grandchildren.

She enjoyed cuddling with her two Bichon Frise dogs, Lacee and Joker. Sue was involved with the Relay for Life for many years and she loved to dance. Memorial Service will be at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, September 8, 2018 at Schueneman-Tumbleson Funeral Home.

Rev. Dr. James Breed to officiate. Visitation will be on Saturday from 9:00 a.m. till time of service at the funeral home.

Private Burial will take place at a later date. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society or the Susan G. Komen Foundation. Please leave an online condolence for Sue’s family at www.
