Obituary for Sybil Alene Goble Shaw Mrs. Sybil Alene Goble Shaw, 88, of China Grove, entered into eternal rest on Friday, April 27, 2018, at Trinity Oaks in Salisbury. A graveside service is scheduled for 11:00 am Thursday, May 3, 2018 at Salisbury National Cemetery. Rev.

Phil Thorsen will officiate. Interment will follow. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8:00 pm Wednesday at Lady’s Funeral Home.

Mrs. Shaw was born November 24, 1929 in the Furr Township in Stanly County. She was a daughter of the late Lattie Lemuel Goble and Jessie Lee Crayton Goble. Sybil was a 1947 graduate of J.W. Cannon High School in Kannapolis and a 1950 graduate of Lenoir Rhyne College in Hickory.

She taught at Jackson Park Elementary School, which she attended as a child, for several years prior to moving to California, where she also taught school at Norwalk LaMirada School District. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by sister, Elaine G. Walsh; and brother, Kermit Crayton Goble. Mrs. Shaw is survived by her beloved husband of 65 years, Jack Curtis Shaw, of the home; four nieces; two nephews; six great nieces; six great nephews; four great-great nieces; and two great-great nephews, all of Georgia.
