Obituary of Tamara “Tammy” Long Tamara “Tammy” E. (Turben) Long, 59, of Lower Pottsgrove Twp. , PA, passed away on Wednesday, December 19, 2018 at Reading Hospital. She was the wife of the late Theodore “Ted” W. Long with whom she shared 33 years of marriage.

Born in Erie, PA, on October 13, 1959, Tamara was the daughter of Judith (Janke) Hewitt and the late Benjamin Turben. Tammy served in the United States Navy from 1977-1978, was a Naval Reservist for many years, served stateside during the initial Gulf War, and was in her 18th year working as a school bus driver for Custer’s Garage in the Spring-Ford Area School District. She was also a member of the Greater Harrisburg Chorus of Sweet Adelines International and the Tuesday Morning Glories at Arrowhead Golf Course.

Tammy touched so many people throughout her life and will be sorely missed by all of her family and friends! In addition to her mother and step-father, Donald Hewitt, Tammy is survived by her four children, Tracey Franey, wife of James; Troy Long, husband of Melanie; Trevor Long; and Trent Long, husband of Caitlin; ten grandchildren, Logan, Makenna, Skylar, Raymond, Bradley, Brianna, Mason, Keira, Aurora, and Theodore; and her siblings, Laura, Todd, Colleen, Kathleen, Christine, and Shelly; as well as scores of beloved aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, and in-laws. In addition to her husband, father, and grandparents, she is predeceased by one brother, Jeffrey.

Viewings will take place on Friday, December 28, 2018 from 6:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. and on Saturday, December 29, 2018, from 2:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m. at the Houck & Gofus Funeral Home, Inc., 955 N. Charlotte St., Pottstown, PA 19464. A Life Celebration will follow at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday. Interment will take place on Monday, December 31, 2018 at 1:00 p.m. at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery.
