Taylor Brian Downard passed away peacefully, surrounded by his family and friends on Tuesday June 26, 2018 at the age of 22 of complications from Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy. Taylor was born on July 15, 1995 to Jeff Downard and Misty Lundell in Provo, Utah. Taylor grew up in Pleasant Grove most of his life.
As a child he had a great sense of humor that continued throughout his life, he always had us laughing. He was very mischievous. Taylor had a love for life, even with his Muscular Dystrophy he never let anything get him down.
At a young age he was bound to a wheelchair, but that never stopped him, he loved pulling his sisters around on their rollerblades and in wagons. Taylor, his sister Courtney and friend Nic spent multiple hours playing Nintendo. As he got older he converted over to Xbox, from the conversion, that became Taylor’s life.
He loved playing Xbox games with his buddies Christian and Michael and watching movies with them. When Taylor was younger, he loved going camping with family and loved the mountains. He also loved going to the movie theater and couldn’t wait for new releases to come out also he could never be late for the movie previews that was just as important.
He spent countless hours building with Legos. Taylor loved being with family, as it brought the most happiness to him. Taylor always wanted his two younger sisters Jentry and Jayla to have sleepovers.
They loved spending time with him, which included trips to the movies and Nickle Mania. He would love to play Disney movies and music with his youngest sister Ryleigh and was protective of her, they were best buddies. Taylor was blessed to have his dog Bogey with him all the time.
They had an amazing bond. In High School, he was the life of the party, loved going to dances and spending time with friends. He was Senior Class Officer and loved being involved with school activities.
He and his mom would always stay up late watching movies and playing video games, he even had several comical nicknames for her. Taylor had a huge collection of POP figures and movie memorabilia. Recently, Taylor was really into Marvel comics, he and his dad had a love/hate relationship regarding this, as his dad is a DC comic fan.
Taylor is survived by his father Jeff Downard (Amberlie). Mother Misty Lundell. Sisters Courtney King (Tucker), Jentry Downard, Jayla Downard and Ryleigh Lundell.
His Grandparents Marge Lundell, John Downard (Debbie), Shara Lundell, Donna Woodward and Glen Mattinson. Nephews Turner and Coen King. Taylor was proceeded in death by his grandmas, Donna Downard, Judy Mattinson , his uncle Bronson Lundell and aunt Linda Bown.
The family would like to express their sincerest gratitude to Primary Children’s Hospital, including the Doctors and Nurses, for all the care they provided to him. Funeral services will be held Saturday, June 30, 2018 at 1:00 p.m. in the Pleasant Grove Sixth Ward Chapel, 1136 West 700 South, Pleasant Grove with a viewing from 11:00 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. prior to the services. Family and friends may visit Friday evening from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. in the Olpin Family Mortuary Chapel, 494 South 300 East, Pleasant Grove.
Interment will be in the Pleasant Grove City Cemetery. Condolences may be sent to the family at www. olpinmortuary.com.
