GREENFEILD – Thomas Gregory Hembree, age 77, passed away at Hancock Regional Hospital in Greenfield, Indiana on Thursday, January 24, 2019 after battling cancer. Tom was a graduate of Scecina Memorial High School. He attended Saint Meinrad Seminary.

Tom was a veteran of the war in Vietnam and worked a career as a pipe fitter. A lover of dogs, Tom was rarely without a pet in his house. Tom kept bird feeders around the windows of his home as he loved bird-watching.

He had a fondness for young children and loved to tell jokes and laugh with them. Tom was an avid Euchre player; he enjoyed playing with family and friends. He prayed the rosary daily and was a parishioner of St. Michael Catholic Church in Greenfield, Indiana.

Tom is survived by his wife of 55 years, Sally, his son, Greg, and his daughter, Jennifer. Tom also leaves behind 7 grandchildren and brother, Larry. He goes to join his mother, Margaret, his parents-in-law, Bill and Erma, and our Lord, Jesus Christ in Heaven.

Visitation will be held on Monday, January 28, 2019, from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Erlewein Mortuary & Crematory, 1484 W. US Hwy. 40, Greenfield, IN 46140. A funeral mass will be held on Tuesday, January 29, 2019, at 11:00 a.m. at Michael Catholic Church, 519 Jefferson Blvd.
