Joyce L. Powell, 77, of Ingalls, passed away Wednesday, February 20, 2019 in Anderson. She was born February 6, 1942 in Etowah, Arkansas to Allie J. and Lou Ellen (Nash) Carpenter. Joyce graduated from Misco High School in Misco, AR.

She worked for the former Brookside Corporation for 35 years and retired from Roche Diagnostics in 2012 after 15 years’ service. She was of the Christian faith and a member of the Church of God. Joyce is survived by sons: Terry R. (Michelle) Lawson of Indianapolis; Michael (Paula) Lawson of Anderson; Lonnie A. (Michelle) Lawson of Noblesville; Gregory Powell of Ingalls; step-sons: Robert (Lori) Powell of Shelbyville and Christopher Powell of McCordsville; 21 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; sisters: EllaMae Chaple of Ingalls and Alline (Johnny) Thompson of New Port, AR.

She was preceded in death by husband Robert W. Powell in 2016; her parents; brothers: Kendull Caprenter and Doyle Carpenter; sisters: Eloise Williams, Mildred “Anita” Henry and Juanita Williams. Friends may call on Sunday, February 24, 2019 at Seals Funeral Home, Fortville from 2 to 6 pm. A celebration of Joyce’s life will be held on Monday, February 25, 2019 at 10:30 am at the funeral home.

Burial will take place at Gravel Lawn Cemetery, Fortville. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society. Online condolences may be shared at www.
