Obituary for Wilna “Willie” Cole GGREENFIELD – Wilna E. “Willie” (Grubbs) Cole, age 87, of Greenfield, passed away on Saturday, January 5, 2019 at Hancock Regional Hospital. She was born in Knightstown on February 27, 1931 to Howard and Lois (Dowell) Grubbs. She attended Greenfield High School.

Willie married Lloyd D. “Rocky” Cole on November 13, 1947 in Greenfield. She worked at Hancock Regional Hospital in the cafeteria and as cafeteria manager for Greenfield Middle School and Harris Elementary for many years. Willie worked alongside her husband, Rocky for many years at Rocky Cole Advertising as an office administrator.

She was a member of Park Chapel Christian Church and a former Sunday school teacher. Willie is survived by her daughter, Lynn (Bob) Pepperworth of Greenfield; sons, Doug (Claudia McGee) Cole of Indianapolis, Tracey (Susie) Cole of Noblesville, and Barry (Nancy) Cole of Greenfield; nine grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, Howard and Lois Grubbs; husband, Rocky Cole; brothers, Marvin “Bud” Grubbs and William “Bill” Grubbs; and sister, Barbara Dunbar.

Gathering will be held on Saturday, January 12, 2019, from 2:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. at Erlewein Mortuary & Crematory, 1484 W. US Hwy. 40, Greenfield, IN 46140. A celebration of life service will take place immediately following the visitation at 4:00 p.m. Pastor David Woods will be officiating.

Burial will be held at a later date at Park Cemetery in Greenfield. Memorial contributions may be made by mail to the Boys & Girls Clubs of Hancock County, 715 E. Lincoln Street, Greenfield, IN 46140 or envelopes will be available at the mortuary. Friends may share a memory or a condolence at www.
