Thomas J. Corkle, 76, of Grand Island passed away on Thursday, January 17, 2019 at Tiffany Square Care Center. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 on Sunday, January 20, 2019 at All Faiths Funeral Home, with a prayer service at 7 pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10:30 am on Monday, January 21, 2019 at St. Mary’s Cathedral, with celebrant Fr.

Ryan. Burial to follow at Grand Island City Cemetery. All Faiths Funeral Home is entrusted with arrangements.

Tom was born on August 24, 1942 at Norfolk, NE, son of John Sr. and Mabel (Daly) Corkle. He grew up near Tilden, NE and graduated from High School at Neligh. Tom continued his education, graduating from both University of Nebraska at Lincoln and Colorado School of Banking at Boulder.

On May 30, 1970 he married Anita Deckert. This union was blessed with three children. They made their home in Grand Island where Tom was employed by Commercial National Bank, Northwest National Bank, Five Points Bank, and finally retiring from Heritage Bank in Grand Island/Doniphan in 2009.

Tom was a devoted member of St. Mary’s Cathedral. He also held memberships with the Kiwanis Club, Saddle Club, the Hall County Historical Society, and the Chamber of Commerce Ag Committee. Tom is survived by his wife of 48 years, Anita; children, Kelli Corkle (Deron Fuller) of Skokie, Il, Christine (Daniel) Springer of Kansas City, KS, John (Katie) Corkle of Phoenix, AZ ; grandchildren, Emelia Fuller, Eloise Fuller, Grant Springer, Paige Springer, and Cameron Corkle; brothers, John Jr. (Sally) Corkle of Broomfield, CO, and William Corkle of Lincoln, NE; sisters, Elizabeth (Don) Schuldt of Rapid City, SD, and Mary (Randy) Sable of Lakewood, CO; brother-in-law, Larry (Sandy) Deckert from Ogallala, NE; along with numerous extended family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, grandparents, his mother and father-in-law, and one brother-in-law. In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to St. Mary’s Cathedral, Hall County Historical Society, or the Kiwanis Club. To send flowers or a memorial gift to the family of Thomas J.
