DeForest/Sun Prairie – Thomas J. McGill Jr., age 74, passed away on Tuesday, June 19, 2018 at home. He was born March 7, 1944 in Highland, Wis. , the son of Thomas J. McGill Sr. and Cecelia A. (Kuchar) McGill.

He attended Prairie du Sac High School and MATC. Tom spent most of his life farming at home and Blaney Seed Corn and the University Farms. Tom was an avid Brewers, Badgers, Packers and Mallards fan.

Tom is survived by his siblings, Mary (Rich) Hankins of DeForest, Jerry (Anne) McGill of Lodi, Jude (Richard) Hutchinson of Sun Prairie, Jack (Kathy) McGill of Sun Prairie, and Ron (Jan) McGill of Madison; and numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, friends, family and neighbors. He was preceded in death by his parents; step-father, Mick Grimm; and brother, James. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, June 26, 2018 at St. Olaf Catholic Church, 623 Jefferson Street, DeForest, with Father Vincent Brewer officiating.

Visitation will be held from 5 – 7 p.m. on Monday, June 25, 2018 at Ryan Funeral Home, 6924 Lake Road, DeForest, and again on Tuesday from 10 a.m. until the time of Mass. Burial will follow at St. Olaf Cemetery. A special thank you to Agrace HospiceCare and the staff at Hyland Crossing.
