Thomas R. Herndon BURLINGTON, WV – Thomas R. “Tom” Herndon, 70, of Burlington, passed away on Monday, October 29, 2018 at WMHS Medical Center, Cumberland, MD. Born on February 14, 1948 in Keyser, he was a son of the late Richard C. and Stella Pauline (Nash) Herndon. Tom was retired from VERSO Corp.

He was a veteran of the U.S. Army armed guard, military police, a graduate of Keyser High School class of 1966 and Teratech Vocational College. A member of VFW Post 3519 Nancy Hanks and American Legion, he was an avid rendezvous reenactment member. Surviving are his immediate family: two brothers, Daniel C. Herndon and wife Brenda of Keyser and Donald R. Herndon and wife Debra of Ocean Isle, NC; his sister, Mary Louise Carskadon and husband Tuck of Keyser and the one true love of his life, Janet Ravenscroft.

Friends will be received at the Markwood Funeral Home, Keyser, on Saturday, November 3, 2018 from 2-4 p.m. A private family service will be held and inurnment in Queens Point Cemetery, Keyser.
