Obituary for Thomas Shea THE CASEY FAMILY IS HONORED TO BE CARING FOR AND ASSISTING THE FAMILY OF THOMAS W. SHEA WATERBURY – Thomas W. Shea of Waterbury, passed away unexpectedly at home on Tuesday, September 18, 2018. Mr. Shea was born in Hartford, CT November 9, 1946, the son of the late Richard G. Shea and Ethel Quinn Shea. He is predeceased by his wife Mary Ellen Shea to whom he was married 33 years.

Mr. Shea attended schools in Hartford, graduating from Hartford Public High School in 1964. He attended UCONN and served with the CT National Guard. He worked in the food service industry all his life, notably Friendly’s Ice Cream, Pratt and Whitney, Bell Food Service, Oxford Public Schools and Curtain Transportation.

Tom was an avid New York Yankees fan and devotee of UCONN men and women’s basketball. He played softball for many years in the Hartford men’s league and Cheshire Parks and Rec league. He is survived by his daughters; Tracey Dunn and her husband, Alex of Attleboro MA, and Kelley DeRoy of Meriden; cherished grandchildren; Megan, Amanda, Patrick, Jonathan and Connor; his great granddaughter Mila Rae; a sister, Kathleen Fotta and her partner, Shaun Tine of Uncasville; a brother, James Shea and his partner Kathleen Philbrick of Hebron; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services for Mr Shea will be held on Monday, September 24, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. at Casey’s Eastside Memorial Funeral Home 1987 East Main St @Southmayd Rd Waterbury. Burial will follow in New Pine Grove Cemetery, Waterbury. Relatives and friends may visit with Thomas’ family on Sunday, September 23, 2018 from 4:00 till 6:00 p.m. To honor Thomas’ memory and in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the America Diabetes Association 2451 Crystal Drive, Suite 900 Arlington, VA 22202, www.
