Thyla Elaine Popejoy December 29, 1951 – January 26, 2019 Share this obituary Sign Guestbook Mrs. Thyla Elaine Popejoy of Trumann departed this life on Saturday, January 26 at St. Bernards Medical Center in Jonesboro, Ark. , at the age of 67 years and 28 days. She was born Saturday, December 29, 1951 in Jonesboro, Ark.

, to the late Lawrence and Leota Houston Case and lived most of her lifetime in Trumann. She was a retired teacher for the Trumann Public Schools and a member of the First General Baptist Church. Mrs. Popejoy was preceded in death by two grandsons, Sylar Hill and Dawson Popejoy, one brother, A.L. Case and her parents.

She is survived by her husband of 42 years Jerry Popejoy of the home; one daughter, Carlene (Trey) Perkins of Jonesboro, AR, two sons, Roland (Erin) Popejoy of Jonesboro, AR and Stanton (Brittany) Popejoy of Trumann; one brother, Finis Case (Dee) of Trumann; and 6 grandchildren, Brodie Popejoy, Preslee Bane, Kaigen Popejoy, Jada Norman, Case Popejoy and Carigan Popejoy. Graveside services will be Wednesday afternoon at 2:00 p.m. at Potters Cemetery in Lepanto, Ark. with Rev.

Darrel Miller officiating. Honorary pallbearers will be special friends and co-workers at Goodwill of Jonesboro, AR. Visitation will be Tuesday evening from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at First General Baptist Church in Trumann.
