Timothy Wayne Maypray II, 30, of Mooresville, NC. , passed into eternal rest on Jan 15, 2019. He was born on May 13, 1988 and was raised in Madisonville; attending MNHHS until his Sophomore year.

From there he attended Randolph-Macon Academy thru the 12th grade. Timothy received a 4-year football scholarship to the Virginia Military Institute (VMI) in Lexington, VA. While a cadet at the VMI, Timothy received many awards and was named First Team All-Big South Conference as a kick-off and punt returner in 2007 and 2009.

In 2010. Timothy won the VMI Intercollegiate Athletics Award which is presented to the most outstanding athlete. He graduated from VMI with a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology.

Maypray played professionally for 3 seasons in the Canadian Football League, making his debut for the Montreal Alouettes in their 2010 Grey Cup Championship season. In 2014, Maypray returned a missed field goal attempt for a record setting 125-yard touchdown. After leaving the CFL, he returned to his Alma Mater to coach the VMI cadets as an assistant for 3 years.

He later accepted a position at Davidson College as their running back coach. Timothy professed an interest in Jesus Christ at an early age. He attended Christ Church Holiness where he learned the ways of Salvation under many great teachers and leaders.

Timothy was preceded into rest by both of his grandmothers: Tommie J. Reynolds and Juanita Reynolds; his great grandmothers: Jennie Holland and Catherine Bass. Timothy leaves to cherish his memory, his loving wife: Bianca Maypray; 2 sons: Timothy W. Maypray III, and soon to be Noah Maypray; 1 daughter: Madison J. Maypray, all of Mooresville, NC; his loving mother: Rose Jones of Madisonville; 1 devoted brother: Minister Quincy Hall (Charisse) of Bonaire, GA; 1 cherished sister: Ashley Maypray of Madisonville; 1 very special great aunt Virginia Tolbert of Madisonville; 2 nieces; 1 nephew; 9 uncles; 10 aunts, and a host of in-laws, cousins, and friends. Timothy will be celebrated on Monday January 21, 2019 at 1:00 p.m. at First Baptist Church located at 246 N. Main St. in Madisonville with Elder Robert Clemmons as the eulogist and Elder Shelia Carter officiating.

Visitation is 4-8 p.m. Sunday January 20th at Christ Church Holiness. Mason & Sons is entrusted with arrangements. Leave condolences at www.
