Obituary for Troy Franklin Wright Troy Franklin Wright, 48, passed peacefully at his residence in Erwin, TN after having battled numerous illnesses over recent years, including a stroke in 2011, that left him homebound. Prior to these many difficulties, Troy worked with his late, beloved father Frank Wright selling school furnishings through his dad’s company, T&C Wholesale. Troy also received his Master’s in counseling and B.S. degrees from ETSU.
He worked for Frontier Health as a therapist and RTO rents as a regional manager prior to working for his father. He graduated from David Crockett High School class of 1987. Troy wasn’t a great guitarist but he loved those who were and played their music loud for everyone!
Troy loved comedy. He always tried his best to be the constant comedian for everyone. Troy was a member of Central Church of Christ on Oakland Avenue in Johnson City, Tennessee.
Even though in his last days attending church was not possible, he made it known that he still was a believer and a man of faith and regrets for the wrong doings in his life. He longed for penitence and love from all. He leaves behind grieving family that includes two loving children that he adored and talked about constantly – McKenzie Rose Wright and Gabriel Justus Wright.
Also, his childhood sweetheart since the age of fifteen and wife of 25 years, Christa Webb Wright; his dear mother, Rose Mayhall Wright that spoiled her “Bud”; sister Christen Wright Thomas and her family, Scott, Kilian, Kyle, and Kessa. Other family members and special friends include Ronnie, Nannie, and Courtney Webb; Jim and Mimi Thomas and Jan and Felix McDaniel. A special thanks to In Home Services Health Care’s Melody Urner and cousin Amy Armstrong Brotherton who have been so very helpful in caring for Troy.
His love for all those mentioned was immeasurable and our appreciation is indescribable. A private funeral with family and close friends will be held at the Evergreen Cemetery Mausoleum in Erwin, TN at 3:00 pm on Sunday, July 29, 2018. On Monday, July 30, 2018 at 6:00 pm, all friends and family are requested to join in a celebration of Troy’s life at Central Church of Christ, 2722 East Oakland Avenue, Johnson City.
The family would like to request that anyone wanting to share stories or memorabilia to please attend. Mr. Tim Hall will officiate services. In lieu of flowers, a college fund has been set up for McKenzie and Gabriel and can be accessed through Christa Webb Wright’s Facebook page.
