Velma A. Crinnion, 90, of York died January 12, 2019 at Pleasant Acres Nursing and Rehab Center. She was the wife of the late Richard H. Crinnion. Born July 23, 1928 in York, she was the daughter of the late Reginald and Alverta (Miller) Heindel.

Velma was a graduate of Hellam High School. She was raised on her family’s farm, the Heindel Riding Stables. She loved animals, especially dogs and going shopping.

She was a loving mother and enjoyed being with her family. She is survived by her daughter, Shirley P. and her husband, Randy Helwig of Emigsville; son, Dale R. Crinnion of Mount Wolf; 4 grandchildren, Laura Crinnion, Jennifer Whitehead, Heidi Krout, and Troy Helwig; 9 great grandchildren; and 1 great great grandson. She was preceded in death by her son, Larry E. Crinnion; grandson, Chad Crinnion; great grandson, Cole Krout; and a sister, Evelyn Hinkle.

Private services will be held at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, P.O. Box 96011, Washington, DC 20090. Arrangements by the Etzweiler Funeral Homes and Cremation Service, 1111 E. Market St. York, PA 17403.
