Virgie Marie Chambers, age 87, of Glenwood, passed away on Saturday, January 26, 2019. She was born on October 21, 1931 in Hopper, the daughter of Jason Cogburn and Florence Youngblood Cogburn. She was preceded in death by the father of her children, David Chambers, Jr.; her son, Kenny Chambers; and her parents.

A homemaker, she was a wonderful cook and loved being around her family. She was a devout Christian and a gifted musician who enjoyed playing the guitar. She is survived by four children and their spouses, Dolores and Gene Cowart of Langley, Dickey and Kelly Chambers of Hot Springs, Dean and Debbie Chambers of Glenwood and Vickey and Jim Gray of Pontotoc, Mississippi; her daughter-in-law, Tracy Chambers of Hopper; ten grandchildren; twenty-one great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; her sister, Irene Vaughn of Glenwood; and a host of nieces and nephews.

Services will be held at 10:00 AM, Wednesday, January 30, 2019, in the Davis-Smith Funeral Home Chapel, Glenwood, with Dewight Mack, Dewayne Mack and Nick Flowers officiating. Visitation will be Tuesday, 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM, at the funeral home. Interment will be in Bear Creek Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be her grandsons and include Jason Cowart, Adam Chambers, Rickey Chambers, Chris Henderson, Andrew Chambers, Jordan Cowart and Luke Cowart. Honorary pallbearers will be the staff and residents of Oak Park Village, her second family. Memorials may be made to the Bear Creek Cemetery Association, PO Box 201, Kirby, Arkansas 71950.
