Obituary for Virgil Burgan Virgil Burgan, 55, was born September 14, 1963 in Pennington Gap, VA, the son of Carl and Gracie Burgan. He has lived most of his life in Kentucky, working in a printshop and briefly running a restaurant. Virgil loved cats, cooking, drawing, and making people laugh.

He and his then-wife, Jill, enjoyed remodeling Victorian homes. Virgil was a born-again Christian and looked forward to reuniting with his sister, Trisha, and brother, Richard, in Heaven. Virgil departed this life on Friday, October 12, 2018, at Gallatin Nursing Home in Warsaw, KY, with ALS (Lou Gehrigs).

He is survived by his mother, Gracie Smallwood; sister, Teresa (and Joe) Tate; brothers, Will Burgan, George Burgan, and Michael Burgan. Virgil also leaves behind many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, and beloved cat Tiger. His special friends were Jill, Pam Glover, Leon and Joyce Best, and Jimmy Simpson.

Virgil was preceded in death first by his sister, Patricia Burgan Robbins; next by his brother, Richard Burgan; and last, by his father, Carl Burgan. The family will receive friends from 1 until 2:00 p.m. Monday, October 15, at Robinette Funeral Home in Jonesville, VA. The funeral service will begin at 2:00 p.m. with Rev.

Richard Stewart and Rev. John Fultz officiating. Graveside services will follow in the Ewing-McClure Cemetery in Jonesville.
