Virginia Mae Barber Blankenship Arrant, 87, went home to be with the Lord on March 20, 2019 at the Berry Hill Nursing Home in South Boston, VA after an extended period of declining health. Mrs. Arrant was born in Danville, VA on August 31, 1931 a daughter to the late Rev. Robert Jones Barber, Sr. and Maggie Stone Barber.

She had lived most of her life in Danville and Halifax County, VA. She was a member of Centerville Baptist Church. Mrs. Arrant is survived by one daughter, Mary Blankenship Eanes, (Fred) of Halifax, VA, two sons, Jack Blankenship, Jr, (Debbie) of Emporia, VA, William Blankenship, (Tammy) of Staunton, VA, four brothers, Rev.

Dr. Raymond Barber, (Helen) of Burleson, TX, Howard Barber, (Judy) of Charlotte, NC, Rev. Dr. William (Bill) Barber, (Lalanne) of Cary, NC and Rev. Dr. Doug Barber, (Sue) of Danville, VA, five grandchildren & 12 great grandchildren.

Mrs. Arrant was predeceased by two brothers, Rev. Dr. R.J. Barber, Jr. and Otis Barber, two sisters, Mamie Gregory and Edna Billington and by one granddaughter, Rev. Jennifer E. Holder.

A Celebration of Life Service for Mrs. Arrant will held on Saturday, March 23, 2019 at 4:00 p.m. from the Wrenn-Yeatts North Main Chapel by the Rev. Dr. Doug Barber. Interment will follow in Highland Burial Park.

The family will receive friends on Saturday from 3:00 to 4:00 p.m. at the funeral home and at other times, they will be at the residence of her daughter, Mary and Fred Eanes, 2200 Union Church Road, Halifax, VA 24558. The family would like to express a special thank you to Hospice of Virginia for the wonderful care and kindness they provided for Mrs. Arrant. Wrenn-Yeatts North Main Chapel is respectfully serving the Arrant family.
