Obituary for Virginia “Jennie” Shupe Big Stone Gap, VA Virginia Louise Qulllin “Jennie” Shupe, 92, has been rewarded on this day, Thursday (April 19, 2018) as she is re-united with her Lord and Savior, Jesus and her family who have made their journey before her. Jennie was a lifelong resident of Big Stone Gap and a member of Trinity United Methodist Church since her youth. She has lived a full and rewarding life as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, volunteer and servant of God.

She was preceded in death by her husband, James N. Shupe; sisters, Willie Smith and Ruth Blakemore; and a brother, Jim Quillin. Jennie leaves behind her son and daughter, David and Kathy; her only granddaughter, Katie; sister, Jean and nephews, Jeff and Jimmy, sister Willie’s daughter and son, Amy and Mike; her sister Ruth’s daughter and two sons, Mary Ruth, Steve and John Michael; brother, Johnny Quillin and his wife, Jeanette and their children, Mark and Jennifer. The family will receive friends from 12:00 noon to 1:30 p.m. Saturday at Trinity United Methodist Church (203 E. 1st St., S.) in Big Stone Gap, VA.

The funeral service will be conducted at 1:30 p.m. in the church sanctuary with Pastor Terry Goodman officiating. Burial will follow at Glencoe Cemetery. Little children put a huge smile on Jennie’s face when no other thing would during her latter days with us and she requested that in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions be made to the Holston Home for Children, P. O. Box 188, Greeneville, TN 37743.
