Virginia S. Rickert, 84, formerly of Palmer Township, passed away Saturday, February 16, 2019 in Gracedale. Born April 25, 1934, in Forks Township, PA, she was the daughter of the late Kenneth and Elizabeth (George) Smith. Her husband of 57 years, Kenneth E. Rickert, passed away June 6, 2018.

She graduated from Wilson High School Class of 1951 and Churchman’s Business School. Virginia was employed by Palmer Township for 30 years. She had also been a Palmer Township Supervisor and Treasurer.

Previously, she worked for Met-Ed. She was an active member of Faith Lutheran Church where she was a former church treasurer. Virginia was also a member of The BIP and Palmer Township Planning Commission.

She served on the board of Suburban EMS and the former VNA of Easton. Surviving are two daughters, Lisa A. Pysher, of Forks Township and Beth A. Brdar and her husband Marc, of South Park, PA; as well as seven grandchildren, David, Katie and Adam Pysher, Ty, Clare, Cole and Kirk Brdar. Services will be held at 11am Friday in Faith Lutheran Church, 2012 Sullivan Trail, Forks Township.

Call Friday 10-11am in the church. Burial will be in Northampton Memorial Shrine. Arrangements are by the Strunk Funeral Home, Inc., Wilson Borough.
