Walter Joseph “Bud” Shear Jr. age 86, of Petoskey passed away December 17, 2018 at Villa At The Bay. Bud was born on March 8, 1932 in Wyandotte, MI, son of Walter and Margaret Shear. Bud and his wife of 65 years, Joan, lived in Southeast Michigan, raising their 4 sons before relocating to northern Michigan after his retirement from The Prudential Insurance Company.

Preceded in death by his parents and sons Larry, Ed and Bob. Survived by wife Joan, son Walter (Bud) III (Nancy) of Boyne City, daughters-in-law Pat Shear of Houston, TX and Holly Shear of Gaylord, grandchildren Joe (Chelsea Biddick) of East Jordan, Sarah (Cody), Sanders ,Nick, Morgan, and Hannah all of Gaylord , Cara of Chicago, IL, Gracie of Houston and great grandson Wyatt of Gaylord. A funeral Mass will be held on Thursday, December 20th at 10:30am at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church of Petoskey.

The family will receive friends at the church on Thursday from 9:30 until the time of service. Arrangements are in the care of the Stone Funeral Home of Petoskey.
