Dawson–Walter Robert Perry, Sr.,83, of Parrott, passed away on June 30, 2018 at the Willson Hospice House in Albany. The funeral service will be held on Monday, July 2, 2018 at Harvey Funeral Chapel at 11:00 A.M. with interment in the Parrott City Cemetery. Rev.

David Martin, pastor of the Parrott Baptist Church will officiate. Visitation will be held from 10:00 A.M. to 11:00 A.M. prior to the funeral service. Mr. Perry was born in Parrott on September 7, 1934, son of the late Robert Barrett Perry, Sr, and the late Oma Ree Wills Perry.

He was a lifelong resident of Parrott, and graduated from Terrell County High School in l953. He served in the Georgia National Guard for 10 years. He was married to the late Joyce Christine Coleman Perry for 63 years.

He was a retired prominent farmer in Terrell County and currently was Manager of Perry Family Farms and Perry Brothers Farm. He served on the Parrott City Council for 31 years. In addition to his parents and his wife, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Robert Barrett “Bobby” Perry, Jr. and Richard James Perry, both of Parrott.

Survivors include a daughter, Angel Perry Hunter (Rusty) of Dawson; a son, Walter Robert “Robbie” Perry, Jr. (Joan) of Terrell County; a brother, John Thomas Perry of Americus; four grandchildren, Christopher Hunter and Brandon Hunter, both of Dawson, Molly Perry Coston of Preston and Daniel Perry of Cusseta, and seven great-grandchildren.
