Obituary for Walter “Tommy” Thomas Leftwich Walter Thomas “Tommy” Leftwich, age 74 of Sparta, passed away on Thursday, December 6, 2018, at his residence. Tommy was born March 5, 1944 to James R. Leftwich and Sarah Gist Leftwich who preceded him in death. Along with three brothers Jeff, Johnny and Richard Don Leftwich.

Tommy was educated in the school system in Cummingsville, Wallace Smith, and Darwin High School. Tommy was united in marriage to Wenda Page in 1966. In this marriage, three children were born.

He leaves to cherish his memories: His wife of fifty-two years, Wenda Leftwich One daughter: Teena Leftwich of Sparta, TN Two sons: Duane Leftwich of Sparta, TN and Brian (Tiffany) Leftwich of Bowling Green, KY. Grandchildren: Quincy Knight, Peyton Leftwich, Halle Leftwich, Todd Officer, Briana Leftwich, Hannah Leftwich, Xavier Leftwich, Alanna Carpenter, and Olivia Carpenter. Two sisters: Elizabeth (Charles) Rouse and Joyce Dibrell of Sparta.

Two brothers: James (Susie) Leftwich and Glenn (Connie) Leftwich, all of Sparta Four sister-in-laws: Marjorie Leftwich of Mt. Vernon, IN Barbara Bush of Doral, FL Linda Dowell of Antioch Cheryl Williams of Sparta Special nephew: Clay Leftwich Jr. Brother-in-law: Marty (Kim) Gribble A host of nephews, nieces, and friends also survive. Two very devoted friends: James (Clata) Burden and Ben (Kathy) Gardenhire.

Tommy’s last place of employment was TDOT where he has several friends: Bob and Andy Greer, James Eller, Lyle Scott, Buddy Shockley, and Harold Massa. Funeral services will be held at 2pm on Sunday, December 9, 2018 at Oak Lawn Funeral Home with James Lauderdale officiating. Burial will follow in Oak Lawn Memorial Cemetery.
