Obituary for Warren E. Lensert Warren E. Lensert, 91, of Beloit, WI, died Wednesday, October 17, 2018 in his daughter’s home surrounded by his family. He was born December 3, 1926 in Beloit, WI, the son of Edward W. and Freida (Haase) Lensert. Warren attended Beloit High School.

During WWII Warren served with the Merchant Marines serving as a seaman with the North Atlantic Convoy. Discharged from the Coast Guard in 1988 for his service in the Merchant Marines in WII. In 1950 he joined the U.S. Army serving stateside during the Korean War.

Warren was honorably discharged in 1952. Warren married Betty J. Watson on September 19, 1950 in Rockford, IL. She predeceased him on January 20, 2006.

Warren owned and operated Lensert/Wilson Barber Shop in Beloit, WI and Lensert’s Barber Shop in Sturgeon Bay, WI, retiring on February 5, 1975. He and Betty also owned and operated Lensert’s Soda and Sundries on Wisconsin Ave. in Beloit from 1963 until 1967.

He was a former member of the Sturgeon Bay Lions Club and a charter member of the Beloit Noon Lions club. Warren was a former member of Bay View Lutheran Church in Sturgeon Bay, WI, serving on the church council. He was a longtime member of St. Paul Lutheran Church, Beloit, WI, where he was a greeter.

He was a member of the Sturgeon Bay Power Squadron and taught water navigation for the Great Lakes yacht owners. Survivors include his four children, Jean M. Voigts of Janesville, WI, Christine J. (Merle) Rasmusson of Sturgeon Bay, WI, Marilyn L. (Ken) Harris of Beloit, WI, and Duke (Dianne) Lensert of Sister Bay, WI; grandchildren, Deanna Harmon, Scott Voigts, Carrie Herlache, Cubby Hartl, James Harris, Alex Lensert and Ki Lensert; Step grandsons, Merle Jr., Josh, and Adam Rasmusson all of MS; eight great grandchildren, Andrea, Brittney, Alana, Alyssa, Lucas, Tyler, Mia and Matthew; great-great grandchildren, Maddisyn, Macie, Miles, Hunter and Amanda; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Helen Bush, Kenneth Watson, Raymond Watson, William (Ada) Watson, Gerald (Heidi) Watson and Jan (Charles) Brown; cousins, nieces and nephews. The family would like to thank Beloit Regional Hospice for all their loving care, especially Jenna and Morgan.

He was predeceased by his parents, parents-in-law Carl and Mabel Watson, son-in-law Gary Voigts, brothers-in-law Dale Watson, Carl Sadewater, Charles Showen and Pete Bush, sisters-in-law Margaret Watson, Marilyn Showen, and Beverly Watson; and a nephew, Kenny Watson. Funeral service for Warren will be at 11:00 a.m. Monday, October 22, 2018 in St. Paul Lutheran Church, 617 St. Lawrence, Beloit, WI, with Pastor Lucy Wynard officiating. Visitation of remembrance will be from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday in the Daley Murphy Wisch & Associates Funeral Home and Crematorium, 2355 Cranston Road, Beloit, WI.

Visitation of remembrance will also be from 9:45 to 10:45 a.m. Monday in the church. Memorials may be given to Beloit Regional Hospice or St. Paul Lutheran Church. Upcoming Events Visitation , OCT 21.
