73, went to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Thursday, May 24, 2018 surrounded by his loving family. Wayne Sr. is predeceased by his son, Wayne Stanton, Jr He is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Gloria R. Stanton; his daughter, Susan Schroeder and her husband Rich Schroeder; his son, John Stanton and his wife, Cheryl Stanton; and his seven grandchildren: Meghan Stanton, Rachelle Stanton, Paige Stanton, Richie Schroeder, Ashley Schroeder, Johnny Stanton, and Natalie Stanton; and close friends, Penny and Patrick Clark.

In his early years, Wayne Sr. served in the Air Force during the Vietnam war. His entire life he had an avid passion for all forms of automotive racing. He especially loved racing at Watkins Glen.

He will be greatly missed by his beloved dog, Sammy. A Memorial service will be held on Monday, May 28, 2018 at 11:00 am at Bethel Baptist Church, 300 N. Jensen Road, Vestal.
