Wayne A. Ward, 49, passed away after a long battle with cancer Thursday, January 17, 2019. He was born to Leonard Ward (biological father) and Judy Britt on August 29, 1969 in Fort Wayne, Indiana. On April 29, 1995 in Brethren, Michigan, Wayne married Nicole C. Hamilton.

Wayne is survived by his mother Judy Britt and father Jack Britt of Fort Wayne, his wife Nicole Ward of South Bend, Indiana; one daughter, Latasha Fredericks of Fort Wayne; three sons; Thomas Ward of Osceola, Indiana, Zachary (Faith) Ward and Quentin Ward both of South Bend and four grandchildren, Jeremiah 11, Kaleigh7, Laylah 5, and Aurora 1. He is also survived by two sisters; Lori (Matt) Fraley and Nicole Ward; three sister-in-laws Clarissa Regula (Geoff) Terrie Bradford and Kelly Fink (Greg); as well as two brothers; James Britt and Justin Britt and two brother-in-laws; Elmond Hamilton and James Reterstoff (Ann). Wayne was a member of the International Union of Bricklayers and Allied Craftworkers, local 4 South Bend chapter.

Where he served for 19 years in his craft as a Tile Mechanic. Wayne also served as chairman on the chapter board over the last couple years. Wayne’s hobbies included riding his Harley Davidson, fishing with his dad, sons, brother & friends, playing euchre and poker with numerous family members and friends.

Spending time with family and friends was always most important to Wayne. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 1:00 pm on Saturday February 2, 2019 at Palmer Funeral Home – River Park, 2528 Mishawaka Ave. , South Bend IN 46615.

Pastor Bob Vale will officiate. Friends may visit with the family one hour prior to the services at the funeral home. Online condolences may be left for the family at www.
