William T. Cochrane, 72, passed away Sunday (April 22, 2018) at home in Champaign peacefully surrounded by his three children. William “Bill” was born in Urbana on July 24, 1945, to James J. Cochrane Jr. and Alice M. (Hettinger) Cochrane. Bill is survived by three children, Monica (Dwain) Shuler, William J. “Bill” (Tonya) and Michael; 14 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

He is also survived by three brothers and two sisters, Jim (Debbie), Phil (Karen), Mary-Alice (Paul) Hughes, Mick (Lorna) and Theresa. Bill was preceded in death by his parents and his granddaughter, Sara Shuler. Visitation is from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, April 24, 2018, at Owens Funeral Home, 101 N. Elm St., Champaign.

A funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. April 25, 2018, at Holy Cross Roman Catholic Church, Champaign. Memorial Contributions may be made to the National Kidney Foundation, Holy Cross Parish or the Champaign County Humane Society.
