Margaret Ann Jackson, age 85, beloved daughter of Mary M. (Riordan) and Robert Gilmore von Schmittou (both deceased); loving sister of Jane Kippley, passed on from this life on Tuesday, May 8, 2018 at her home in Champaign. Margaret was born on December 28, 1932 in Washington, D.C. Margaret and her former husband, William, had six children: Jane Ann, William, Mary, Patricia, Margaret and Constance. Margaret graduated from Ulster County Community College, Stone Ridge, NY, in 1980 in Secretarial Studies.

She also graduated from State University of New York College at New Paltz with a Bachelor of Science in 1986 She leaves behind: her sister; her six children, and their spouses; her niece and nephew, Charles and Theresa, and their children; seventeen grandchildren (Kathleen, Andrew, Daniel, Elizabeth, Hannah, Rebecca, Sarah, Farris, Yusef, Michelle, Michael, Stephen, Elijah, Luke, Hannah, Meghan and Matthew); and, five great grandchildren (Gavin, Jonah, Cleo, Olivia and Luke). Margaret was a member of Holy Cross Parish, Champaign, IL, and the Eastern Area Cursillo Community. The funeral mass will be at 10:00am on Thursday May 10 at Holy Cross Catholic Church (403 W. Clark St.) in Champaign.

The visitation will be one hour prior to the service (9:00-10:00) at the church. Burial will be at St. Boniface Catholic Cemetery in rural Seymour.
