Patricia J. Hardy, 81, of Champaign died on Sunday evening, June 17, 2018 at OSF Heart of Mary Medical Center, Urbana. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 am on Monday, June 25 at Holy Cross Catholic Church, 403 W. Clark, Champaign. Burial will immediately follow at Grandview Memorial Gardens, Champaign.

As per Pat’s wishes, there will be no visitation. Pat was born on August 16, 1936, the only child of Paul and Pearl (Combs) Schwabe. She is survived by her beloved dog, Benji; cousins, Robin (Nic) Talley of Marshall and Mary Margaret (Les) Brown of Palm Coast, FL and her Aunt Barbara Waymire of Camargo; along with many friends.

Pat dedicated her life to helping others, as was evident in both her work and personal life. Until her retirement in 2008, Pat had worked with children as a social worker at both Catholic Charities and Lutheran Social Services. She also donated her time to the church and her belongings to Empty Tomb.

She loved to cook for her cousins whenever they would come to visit her. She had a loving heart and a generous spirit. Donations can be made to Holy Cross Catholic Church, 403 W. Clark, Champaign, IL 61820.

And as Pat would have wanted, do not throw things away, always donate them to Empty Tomb to help others.
