Obituary for William Edward Merrick III William Edward Merrick, III, 81, of Timonium Maryland, passed away April 8, 2018. Born June 16, 1936 in Baltimore, son of the late Woodrow William and Mariam (Tiepermann) Merrick. He was predeceased by his wife Dorothy (Hupfl) Merrick, to whom he was married for 54 years and his son William Joseph Merrick.

He is survived by son Mark (Carla) Merrick, his daughter Pamela Heying, daughter Jennifer Merrick (Bob Sigmon), grandchildren Samantha (Ross) Abraham and Zachary Merrick, Stephanie Wisniewski, Jackie Merrick, brother Harry (Pamela) Merrick, niece Teri Merrick, nephew Chris Merrick and three great grandchildren. Bill retired in 1982 from the Baltimore County Police Department where he worked as a detective in the crime lab. After retiring he enjoyed fishing and traveling with his wife and spending time at his home in Ocean City, Maryland.

He was a Master Mason at Sharon Lodge #182 and an active member of FOPD Baltimore County Lodge #004. Donations can be made to the Sidney Kimmel Comprehensive Cancer Center at Johns Hopkins Hospital. Arrangements by Eline Funeral Home, Hampstead.
