William H. Pawlak, 89, of Walloon Lake, MI died June 25, 2018 at home in the presence of his three daughters. William was born on July 19, 1928 in Petoskey, MI the son of Frank S. Pawlak and Jennie (Burrows) Pawlak. He grew up in Petoskey and attended school at Petoskey High.

On April 1, 1950, he married Lucille Schmedes in Baltimore, Maryland. William proudly served 7 years in the United States Coast Guard and was a member of the Melrose Township Fire Department for many years. He enjoyed riding motorcycles and making his lawn look “just right”.

William was one of Jehovah’s Witnesses. He is survived by his daughters, Ceceilia Smith, Catherine Waldrup and Theresa Pawlak; granddaughter, Jennifer Meyers; grandson David Waldrup; sister, Betty Pearson; and niece Brenda Scott. He is preceded in death by his wife, Lucille; and his parents.

A private family service has taken place. Arrangements are in the care of Stone Funeral Home.
