Obituary for William James “Jamie” Davis William James “Jamie” Davis, 57, of Bristol, Virginia claimed his seat in Heaven surrounded by his family, following a short battle with cancer. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Bert and Bea McInturff and Jim and Bessie Davis. Jamie worked at Universal Fibers (Camac) for over 37 years.

He fought so hard to get well so he could return to work. He loved his family and enjoyed playing golf. He loved animals and never met a strange cat that he didn’t care for or bring home.

Jamie is survived by his loving parents, Bob and Jewel “Faye” McInturff Davis; Jamie’s girlfriend, Phyllis Helbert; her daughter, Tiffany Dunnington and husband, Chuck; grandchildren River and Autumn Dunnington; brothers, Jody Davis and wife, Judy and Jeff Davis and wife, Becky; sister, Julie Buchanan and husband, Steve; several nieces and nephews; and his life long friend, Ernie Crowe. The family would like to express a special thank you to the nurses at Ballad – Bristol Regional Hospital who took care of Jamie and his family; the nurses of the Cancer Center on Island Road, and Dr. Tamara Musgrave. The family would also like to thank Universal Fiber for the compassion they have shown to the family, also thanks to our church family and the YMCA pool gang for being a great support group.

The family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. until 6:45 p.m., Monday, September 17, 2018 at Fellowship Chapel, 201 Crockett Street, Bristol, VA 24201. The Celebration of Life Services will be conducted at 7:00 p.m., Monday, September 17, 2018, in Fellowship Chapel, with Pastor Scott Price officiating. Jamie will be cremated per his wishes.
