Obituary for William L. Slowey William L. Slowey, 89, of Beloit, WI, passed away peacefully at home with family by his side on Saturday, September 1, 2018. He was born January 3, 1929 in Briggsville, WI, the son of Matthew J. and Lyda (Yach) Slowey. Bill was a 1946 graduate of Milton High School, Milton, WI.

He was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving with the 32nd Division Red Arrow. Bill was a resident of Johnstown Center for 42 years and has been a resident of Beloit since 1980. On February 6, 1983 he married Gloria (Ahrens) King in Beloit, WI.

They spent many years enjoying traveling and relaxing in their RV. Bill worked for 35 years for General Motors, retiring on March 1, 1991. He was an avid hunter and fisherman.

Bill was a Green bay Packer fan since 1942 and also enjoyed watching the Wisconsin Badgers. After retirement he found great pleasure in making wooden crafts which family and friends will cherish for many years to come. His workmanship was impeccable!

Dad was a man who loved his family. He always remembered that birthday or anniversary card. He was an amazing husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather.

Survivors include his beloved wife, Gloria Slowey; children, Linda (Carl) Wagner of Milton, WI, Patrick (Dee) Slowey of Crystal Lake, IL, Janet (Wayne) Lowrey of Bluffton, IN, Debbie Head of Milton, WI, Michael (Roxann) Slowey of Milton, WI, and Kathy (Joe) Morehart of Edgerton, WI; step children, Kenneth (Lori Zierfuss) King of Beloit, WI, and Karla (David) Kohli King of Madison, WI; 24 grandchildren; 25 great grandchildren with his first great-great grandchild due in January; sister Jean Nelson of Janesville, WI; aunt, Joyce Loose of McFarland, WI; nieces, nephews, and long time special friends, Joe Roberts and John Kirnberger. He was predeceased by his parents, sisters and brother-in-laws, Anita (Jim) Roberts, Bette Lou (Dick) Barlass, and Sally (Elmer) Kopke, brothers and sisters-in-law, Jerry (Jeri) Slowey and Kenny (Elaine) Slowey, and son-in-law Harold Head. Funeral Mass of Christian Burial for William will be 2:00 p.m. Sunday, September 9, 2018 at St. Jude Catholic Church, 737 Hackett Street, Beloit, WI.

Visitation will be from 12:00 p.m. until the time of service Sunday in the church. Daley Murphy Wisch & Associates Funeral Home and Crematorium, 2355 Cranston Road, Beloit, WI, assisted the family with arrangements. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given in his name to Agrace Hospice and Pallative Care, Janesville, WI.

The family would like to thank Agrace Hospice for all the kindness and care given to Bill and family. MISS ME-BUT LET ME GO Dad you will always have a special place in our hearts. Our memories will be cherished and last forever.
