Obituary for Ollie E. Perry Ollie E. Perry, 87, of Beloit, WI, surrounded by family, peacefully slipped into eternity on Saturday, October 20, 2018 at Agrace Center for Hospice & Palliative Care, Janesville, WI. She was born December 13, 1930 in Pensacola, FL, the daughter of John E. and Lula Pearl (Hawthorne) Black. Ollie was a graduate of Pensacola High School, Pensacola, FL, and also a graduate of the Salvation Army Officers Training College.
She married Robert Perry on July 3, 1982 in Rockton, IL. He predeceased her on June 2, 2009. Her former husband, Melvin E. Moore, predeceased her on April 27, 2004.
Ollie submitted her life to the Lord Jesus Christ at an early age, and eagerly responded to the call of God, passionately preaching the gospel message as a minister for 27 years as an officer in the Salvation Army. She enjoyed leading all facets of the Women’s and Young Girls ministries. After her career in the Salvation Army, Ollie became a member of Cornerstone Church of God where she was a Sunday School teacher for many years.
One thing that remained constant in her life was her deep passion for expressing her love for her Savior through the gift of singing and playing piano… God-given talents that ministered to many through the years. Ollie enjoyed working alongside her husband Robert, as a bookkeeper and secretary at his State Farm Insurance agency. She retired, along with Robert, on March 31, 1995.
Survivors include her children, Robin (Greg) Stepp of Davie, FL, Eddie (Barbara) Moore of Valrico, FL, Christopher (Lorie) Moore of Beloit, WI, Ralph Thompson (son-in-law) of Machesney Park, IL; step children, Kathy (Larry) Polglaze of Roscoe, IL, and James (Sherry) Perry of Maple Grove, MN; 15 grandchildren; 23 great grandchildren; and 1 great, great grandchild. She was predeceased by her parents, daughter Carol Thompson, step children Louise Perry and Paul Perry, one brother, eight sisters, and one grandson Justin Bartley. Funeral services for Ollie will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, October 25, 2018 at the Family Worship Center, 1021 Cranston Road, Beloit, WI.
Burial will be in East Lawn Cemetery, Beloit, WI. Visitation of remembrance will be from 9:30 a.m. until the time of service Thursday in the church. Daley Murphy Wisch & Associates Funeral Home and Crematorium, 2355 Cranston Road, Beloit, WI, assisted the family with arrangements.
