Obituary for William McWherter William McWherter Age 77, of Wilmington, IL, passed away Wednesday, August 22, 2018 at Aperian Care in Wilmington. Born March 17, 1941 to Bertha (nee Merritt) and Guy Black in Martin, TN. His mother passed away when he was an infant.

He was raised by his aunt and uncle, Lizzy and Lee McWherter. Bill married Rita (nee Rynearson) Styck on September 5, 2005. He was a semi truck driver for over 50 years and truly loved his job.

His hobbies were hunting, fishing, reading, and growing rose bushes. Surviving are his wife, Rita, of Wilmington; daughter, Debbie (Patrick) Brennan; grandson, Nicholas James Brennan of Arlington Heights, IL; step-daughter, Tina (Don) Fleischauer of Herscher, IL; step-son, Henry (Cindy) Styck, Jr. of Dwight, IL; step-grandchildren, Holly (Robbie) Wilke, Dustin and Cassie Fleischauer, Jason (KayLee) Stanton, Brandy, Brittany, and Jamie Stanton; great grandchildren, Emma, Sophia, and Nevaeh Stanton; brother, James Edward Black; sisters, Betty Ann Booz, Mary Sue Gallet, and nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by his birth mother and father; aunt and uncle that raised him; sisters-in-law, Marsha Black, Dee Rynearson, and Robyn Rynearson; and brothers-in-law, Ken Booz, James Rynearson, Kevin Rynearson, and Terry Rynearson.

Visitation will be at the R.W. Patterson Funeral Home & Crematory on Wednesday, August 29, from 4-7 p.m. Cremation rites will be accorded following visitation. Inurnment will be private in Custer Twp. Cemetery in Custer Park.
