Obituary for William Talmadge Sellers William Talmadge Sellers was born on September 17, 1936 to Rev. Bilbo Ernest Sellers and Mable Gentry Sellers in Covington County, Mississippi. After a wonderfully interesting and fulfilling life, Talmadge passed from this world to his heavenly home on June 25, 2018, at Forrest General Hospital.

In his youth, Talmadge had big dreams and joined the rodeo circuit where he excelled as a champion bull rider gaining the nickname of Champ. He later served as an M.P. in the U.S. Army acting as a dog handler, and also served in the Army and Naval Reserves. Along with his many accomplishments he was a member of the Mississippi Auctioneers Association and was inducted into the MAA Hall of Fame in the year 2008.

Mr. Sellers also was a Shriner and Mason. Although he never had children of his own, he was Uncle to six whom he doted upon in their youth. It never failed that “Uncle Tammage” would save the day appearing just when needed with his cowboy boots, cowboy hat, big rodeo buckle and guitar.

The world was a better place because he lived. Mr. Sellers was preceded in death by his father, Rev. Bilbo Ernest Sellers, mother Mable Gentry Sellers; sister, Mattie Lee Sellers Jordan; and nephew, Rusty Louis Walker.

Mr. Sellers is survived by his sister, Mary Lou Sellers Walker; four nieces and one nephew, many great and great-great nieces and nephews, and his life-long friend Ray Reyer (Linda), and the Reyer children, all of whom he considered family. There will be a graveside service at Roseland Park Cemetery on Wednesday, June 27, 2018, at 10 a.m., to celebrate his life.
