Obituary of William Dunlap William Thomas Dunlap went to his heavenly home on Sunday, January 27, 2019, being loved and cared for by his family. Born on August 11, 1927 to William D. and Martha E. (Lape) Dunlap, he was raised in Derry Twp. After his 1945 graduation from Derry Twp High School, Bill was drafted into the US Army assigned to the 66th Constabulary.

He served with the occupying forces in Germany at the end of World War II. After discharge, Bill returned to Derry Twp and was employed at Kennametal as a machinist for 42 years, retiring in 1990. On October 22, 1954, he married Patricia A. (Warheit) and together they built a home to raise their family.

She preceded him in death December 24, 2012. Bill attended Latrobe First Church of God since he was a child. He was bestowed with the honor of Lifetime Elder.

He also held various positions on the church council, including president, and as the Sunday School Superintendent for 32 years. He and his wife volunteered as counselors at Camp Sonrise Mountain, for 20 plus summers. One of his great passions was Grove Manor Corporation.

As a founding member, he assisted in the planning and building of Grove Manor, a skilled nursing facility in Grove City. He served on the Board of Directors for 48 years, many as president, during the building of The Caring Place in Franklin, and the acquisition of Woodcrest in Scottdale. Bill is predeceased by his parents and his sisters; Minerva Lashinsky, Aileen Schultz, and Lois Dunlap.

He is survived by his sister Phyllis (Bill) Groff; his daughters, Patricia (Rick) Fitzpatrick, Elizabeth Dunlap, and Amy (Ron) Trenney; his grandchildren, Richard J.(Tierney) Fitzpatrick, Robert (Sheri Gongaware) Fitzpatrick, Emily (Ray) Edwards, and Katie Trenney; his great grandsons; Will and Joe Gongaware; and many nieces, nephews, and other family and friends. The family would like to thank Fresenius Dialysis Clinic, Aspire Home Health, Heritage Hospice, and Bill’s very special neighbors. Friends will be received on Wednesday, January 30, 2019 from 2 to 4 PM and 6 to 8 PM at the Hartman-Graziano Funeral Home Inc, 1500 Ligonier Street Latrobe.

A Celebration of Bill’s Life will be held Thursday, January 31, 2019 at 11 AM at the Latrobe First Church of God, 616 Princeton Street, Latrobe. Everyone please go directly to the church. Military Honors accorded by the VFW Post 33 will take place at the church.
