Willie L. Taylor, 74, of Moline, passed away on Sunday, January 27, 2019 at OSF St. Francis Medical Center, Peoria. Services for Mr. Taylor will be at 11 am Friday at Progressive Baptist Church, Davenport. Visitation will be from 9:30 am until the time of the service at church.

Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery, Moline. Memorials may be made to the family. Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home and Crematory, Rock Island is assisting the family.

Willie was born on January 15, 1945 in Homer, Louisiana, the youngest son of Clarence and Annie Taylor. He married Jewel Butler on April 3, 1966 in Peoria. Mr. Taylor had been a supervisor at Alcoa Davenport Works for over 30 years, retiring in 1994.

He was a member of Progressive Baptist Church, and the Cornbelt Running Club, Davenport. Willie enjoyed running, watching cross country and track meets, bowling, gardening, fishing and fixing whatever was broken. Survivors include his wife, Jewel; sons, John (Lori) Taylor, Moline, Willie (Lori) Taylor Jr., Collins, Iowa, Anthony (Leah) Taylor, Redmond, Washington, Tauwon Taylor, Moline and Michael Taylor, Rock Island; 13 grandchildren; three great grandchildren; sisters, Gloria Anderson and Merdis McCarter, both of Winston-Salem, North Carolina.

Willie was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, James Taylor, Bobby Joe Taylor, and Clarence Taylor.
